An important step towards a more circular plastics value chain
The demand for high-quality recycling of plastic packaging continues to grow. To keep valuable plastics in the value chain for as long as possible, sufficient recycling capacity and strong collaboration between chain partners are essential.
Verpact and Bas van den Ende Kunststof Recycling (BVDER) are joining forces to further expand the recycling capacity for used plastic Big Bags in the Netherlands. Through this collaboration, both parties are taking an important step towards a circular solution for this valuable plastic stream.
From used Big Bags to high-quality recycled raw materials
Plastic Big Bags are widely used for the storage and transportation of large quantities of bulk materials. After use, these packaging materials still contain valuable plastics that can be recovered and reused.
At BVDER, used Big Bags are processed into high-quality recycled PP raw materials. Through a carefully controlled recycling process, the materials are sorted, cleaned and further processed into consistent PP agglomerate and granulate. These secondary raw materials can then be used again in the production of new plastic products.
By expanding recycling capacity, more used Big Bags can be processed, further strengthening the circular plastics value chain in the Netherlands.
Working together towards a future-proof plastics value chain
The collaboration between Verpact, BVDER and recycling company Healix demonstrates what can be achieved when different parties across the value chain combine their knowledge and expertise. By investing together in recycling capacity, the partners contribute to returning valuable raw materials to the chain and reducing material waste.
